Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary

The Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary was established in the year 1989 ! The Sanctuary is spread over a total area of 5 sq. km ! The fauna residing in majority at the sanctuary are Leopard, Blackbuck, Sambhar, Chital, Blue-bull, Jarak, Bhedki (Barking deer), Rabbit, etc. while Teak, Saja, Chandan, Eucalyptus, Babul Bamboo etc. are the among the popular Flora located here ! There are plans by the Forest Department to also relocate some 800 deer from Bhopal to this Sanctuary in Indore ! MP Government has also started building the Dinosaur Fossil park here, which would have fossils from the very rich areas of Mandu and Dhar !

The hunting lodge, which was constructed the rulers of the Holkar State in 1905, on the hillock inside the Sanctuary, is now being developed into an information center ! The scenic beauty of the hilly area and valleys in the Sanctuary is remarkable and presents an awesome site to the visitors !

It is also a great site to trek !

Leopard, Blackbuck, Sambhar, Chital, Blue-bull, Jarak, Bhedki (Barking deer), Rabbit, etc. and birds of various species may also seen here !

Principal Flora:
Teak, Saja, Chandan, Eucalyptus, Babool, Bamboo, etc. !

Means of travelling (inside the area):
Petrol-driven four-wheel drive vehicle or a Diesel-driven four-wheel drive vehicle (not older than five years) may be driven here !
