A very unique and rocking restaurant in Indore, Retro Kitchen is true to its name !! It brings back the taste and flavour of the cuisines and dishes of the bygone era !! It serves most selective dishes of the yesteryear, and focuses on heirloom recipes of the grand Royal Houses and ‘Jaagirdaar’ families of India !!

Over the years, these recipes and food had got lost and forgotten in India and had almost no trace in Indore !! Retro Kitchen has revived the nostalgic memories for the elderly and is introducing this to the youngsters !!

The restaurant is run by Mr. Rajendra Singh and Ms. Aditi Singh – very well known historians !! The ambience of the restaurant is something special – vintage, rugged, rustic – to give you the retro feel !! On Thursdays, the restaurant has an even better feel – of that of a jungle lodge as the lights are off for you to have candlelit dinners !! It is unbelievable; do try it !!

Food here is cooked from the authentic recipes of the kitchens of Royal Houses and from the cookings of the common man, from regions such as Champaran (Bihar), Awadh (Lucknow), Malwa (MP), and Marwad & Mewad (Rajasthan) !! The rocking specialities here are include ‘Ahuna‘ the Champaran Ghosht (meat) that is cooked in a clay pot for more than 2 hours, Laal Maas, Junglee Aaloo, Susaa Aaloo, Dehati Hindi, Tuar Daal, Nimona, Paneer Tikka, Palak Shikhampuri, Zameen ke Kebab, Gulaab ki Kheer, Gulab Jamun, etc. !! And there are some specialities which are served only here at this restaurant in Indore, Mutton Sula !!
